What is Reiki?
Reiki is based on the principle of a non-physical energy, also known as “Ki” or “Prana” which animates all living things. Reiki is a technique that involves the channeling of that energy to promote stress reduction and healing.
You do not have to believe to benefit from Reiki, all you need is to be open minded to experience it. It does not conflict with religious beliefs and can be combined with other types of healing therapy and medical treatment.
How can Reiki help you?
Reiki purifies and aligns every level of your being, breaking down old patterns of thinking and feeling. It is transcendental energy that works on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels and covers the nervous system, major organs and the seven primary chakras.
Reiki brings the body to its own natural balance allowing it to heal itself. It fosters the qualities of loving, caring, compassion, trusting, peace and serenity.
People use Reiki to:
- Help release accumulated daily stress
- Promote their well-being
- Reduce pain, anxiety and fatigue
- Help manage symptoms of medical conditions
- Minimize feelings of helplessness when faced with a crisis situation
- Relieve side effects of medications
- Support recovery after injuries or surgery
A Reiki Session
You will be lying fully clothed on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair.
Different than massage, Reiki is not pressure. It is a light touch, but if you feel shy about being touched, I will hold my hands slightly above a series of locations throughout your body: feet, hands, head, front and back of your torso.
Sessions are available in English, Spanish & Portuguese.
During the session
Let the energy of Reiki relax you and notice your state shifting naturally. Meanwhile feel free to daydream, enjoy the music, or simply observe your breath.
Reiki energy arises spontaneously in response to your need for balance at that particular time. That is why each Reiki treatment is automatically customized.
The most common sensation during Reiki is the release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.
After the session
As the day goes on you may notice that other changes continue to unfold: it could be an improvement in your digestion, a sense of being more grounded and at ease, less reactive, and may also sleep deeply that night.
